INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

In order to provide infrastructure facilities and basic amenities in all institutional homes and residential staff quarters, the construction and renovation works have been carried out by PWD every year under plan schemes. Repair works also attended by PWD every year in existing buildings of the homes under the priority list allotment to the Department of Social Defence.

ACHIEVEMENT OF PLAN SCHEMES

The main responsibility of the Department of Social Defence, is to ensure protection of children and women from neglect, maltreatment, abuse, exploitation etc., and to facilitate them to lead a meaningful life by evolving appropriate intervention strategies, plans and programmes for their reintegration into the mainstream. In order to provide care, treatment, education, vocational training and rehabilitation to the children and women admitted in the institutions and for maintaining all institutions and carrying out the developmental activities, a sum of Rs.1402.04 lakhs have been sanctioned in the budget for the year 2006-07.
