Institution for providing care and protection to
mentally challenged children will be established, to provide service to
those children who have been dealt with under the revised Act of 2000.

Shelter Homes and Drop in Centres will be established involving Non
Governmental Organisations to ensure care and protection to runaway
children and Street Children. |

and Out reach Programmes
like Area Project will be introduced to prevent children from adopting

Adoption of children from Child Care Institutions
established under the provisions of the revised Act of 2000 will be

Foster Care Programme will be introduced to help a child to grow either
within the biological family or in a surrogate family. |

Voluntary participation of individuals/organisations etc., in providing
services to children will be entertained. |

Active participation of Non Governmental Organisations in implementing
the programmes and activities will be ensured. |

City Level Plan of Actions on the integrated programme for Street Children
will be implemented in Chennai and other Municipal Corporation areas. |

Draft action plan prepared under National
initiative on Child Protection will
be implemented. |

Draft action Plan for the prevention of
trafficking of children and women
and their commercial sexual exploitation will also be implemented. |
