National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premiere S&T; institution of the Government of India, established in 1976, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY), Government of India, is providing eGovernance support to Central Government, State Governments, UT Administrations, Districts and other Government bodies. It offers a wide range of ICT services including Nationwide Communication Network (NICNET) for decentralised planning, improvement in Government services and wider transparency of national and local Governments. NIC Headquarters is based in New Delhi. At NIC Headquarters, a large number of Application Divisions exist which provide total Informatics Support to the Ministries and Departments of the Central Government.
